Espresso Decaf

Ratio:

• 15 grams of coffee to produce 30 grams of liquid (1 x 2 ratio)
• 15 grams of coffee to produce 22.5 grams of liquid (1 x 1.5 ratio). This would be a very strong espresso

Temperature:

• If you can control it, 190 ~ 201 F for medium roasts. About 8 degrees hotter for a lighter roast, or 15 degrees cooler for a dark roast.

How to:

• Use a fine grind setting to extract more flavor.
• Add coffee to the portafilter, distribute evenly and tamp out air.
• Add portafilter to espresso machine and start brew.
• Ideally, 27 ~ 29 seconds should produce 36 grams of liquid.
• Sip and enjoy!

Note: flow affects flavor:

• If the flow is too quick, not enough coffee is extracted and the coffee will taste weak.
• If the flow is too slow, too much is extracted and the coffee will taste bitter and harsh
